I tried to follow the procedure and am now stuck in TWRP bootloop .. help ?
Try to flash the twrp recovey again. And do you unlocked booloader of your device
You have to flash the modified boot image from chainfire for the latest build, flash twrp, wipe /data through twrp to decrypt. These phones are encrypted so you'll only end up in a bootloop if you don't flash the modified image and also format (especially important) data through twrp.
But For rooting you need to install the modified boot image where if you want to install Only TWRP recovery then it can be install without Flashing Boot.img file in it.
